Finding Your Way Forward...
Life can bring pain, uncertainty, and moments when you feel stuck — yet it’s possible to move forward in a way that honors what truly matters to you.
Hi, I’m Erin Rose, LCSW. I’m so glad you’re here and considering therapy. Therapy offers a space to explore your feelings, gain clarity, and work on creating positive change and a life more aligned with your values.
People seek therapy for many reasons. Sometimes something happens in our lives that is difficult to process or adjust to. Other times, life may look much the same, but we may find that we're not coping as easily as we once did. And sometimes, we've been living with the same struggles for a long time and decide it's time to try therapy.
Major life changes or transitions
Changes in health or a new medical diagnosis
Caregiving responsibilities or ongoing demands
Changes in family roles or responsibilities
Relationship difficulties
Past experiences or trauma that continue to affect you
You may feel more anxious, depressed, overwhelmed, or emotionally drained. You may also notice changes in how you're managing daily life or relating to others, such as:
Having less energy or motivation for things you normally do
Putting off everyday tasks or having difficulty keeping up with responsibilities
Having a harder time concentrating or staying focused at work
Withdrawing from people you care about
Finding it harder to care for yourself or make time for your own needs
Having difficulty setting boundaries or saying no
Feeling less confident or more self-critical
Experiencing more conflict or difficulty communicating in important relationships
Finding that worry, sadness, stress, or other emotions are taking up more space in your life
Therapy may be helpful when what you are experiencing is causing distress or interfering with important areas of your life.
The cost of keeping emotions locked up...
“The past is history, the future is a mystery, and the present is a gift”
A beautiful reminder—but it’s not always that simple.
The past may not feel like history. Old experiences—and the emotions, body sensations, and memories tied to them—can linger
The future may not feel like a mystery. Worries and fears about what lies ahead can make the future feel like a threatening certainty, rather than one of possibility and growth.
The present may feel like it's passing you by. Trying to push away or control difficult emotions can drain us and pull us out of the here and now.
Imagine being given a box you’re told you can fill with anything you want...
meaning, connection, laughter, joy, care
But when you look at the box you see it’s already overflowing with...
fear, grief, anger, sadness, worry, shame
You find yourself sitting on the lid all day, trying to keep it all contained. It’s exhausting work that leaves little room for the present and the gifts it has to offer.
The good news? It doesn’t have to stay this way. You don’t have to hold it all in or open the box alone. Together, we can make space for what truly matters to you.
“The past affects the
present even without
our being aware of it.”
